Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are becoming an increasingly popular option for those who are trying to obtain healthier skin. Chemical peels encourage balance and restoration beneath the surface by removing surface impurities and damage. These peels can aid those who are struggling with acne, skin texture issues, sun damage and other problems.
Just as there are various skin issues, there are also many chemical peel options. The variety of choices available means that there is likely a peel, or combination of peels, that can address your needs. Among these choices are the Ossentials® Stimulator peel, the 3-Step Stimulation Peel™ and Controlled Depth Peel™ from the ZO® Skin Health line. Dr. Garrett Wirth will work with you so you can understand what issues each peel targets and utilize them to improve the health of your skin.
Ossentials Stimulator Peel
Sometimes also known as the express peel or the lunchtime peel, the Ossentials Stimulator Peel can be completed in as little as fifteen to thirty minutes (with no downtime required). This efficient peel is best done three to six times in two to three week increments for optimal results.
The peel utilizes three acids—salicylic, citric and lactic—to exfoliate your skin. As Dr. Wirth removes these dead skin cells, he will uncover your smoother, more youthful looking skin.
The Ossentials Stimulator Peel is a wise choice if you are dealing with:
- Mild acne or acne scars
- Hyperpigmentation
- Age spots
- Large pores
- Fine to moderate wrinkles and lines
ZO® 3 Step Stimulation Peel
The ZO Skin Health line was created by dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi, who believes that healthy skin is created from the inside out. Dr. Wirth and his team echo this ideology. The ZO 3 Step Stimulation Peel has its best results alongside appointments with Dr. Wirth; we recommend three times every six to eight weeks apart with a baseline of three peels. Maintenance every four to six months is encouraged for the best results.
To perform the peel, Dr. Wirth will apply the solution to your face that will exfoliate dead skin and encourage the growth of new skin cells. Your results will include brighter, healthier skin. This peel targets:
- Melasma
- Fine lines or wrinkles
- Texture issues
- Acne
ZO® Controlled Depth Peel
This peel is the most invasive of the three, and may require sedation. It will entail two weeks of downtime and another week of redness/pinkness after that. The ZO Controlled Depth Peel should be performed two times per year to achieve an optimal outcome. If you are suffering from any of the following, you may want to consider the ZO Controlled Depth Peel:
- Scarring
- Texture issues
- Acne
- Hyperpigmentation
- Wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Advanced melasma
Prior to performing this treatment, Dr. Wirth will use pre-conditioning ZO products to prepare your skin. Proper preparation of your skin is essential for maximum results. This treatment utilizes 30% trichloracetic acid, which will treat the matters you are dealing with and will also give you tighter, less inflamed skin as a result.
Long term skin health is attainable, but it does require a commitment from both you and Dr. Wirth. By taking into account your skin and genetics, Dr. Wirth will work with you to facilitate a customized plan to achieve healthier skin. Call today to book an initial consultation!
